song concept

watching a lunar eclipse form the surface of the moon.

if you were on the moon, on the side facing Earth, the home planet would block out the sun. the sun's light would not completely disappear, however, earth would be ringed by light scattered through its atmosphere... the sun would be hidden behind a dark Earth outlined by a brilliant red ring consisting of all the world's sunrises and sunsets.

jack frost roasting on an open fire
fire ants nesting in your nose
screaming, flaming cheetahs
their skin and fur all a'glow
..drowning in a lake of burning crows

everybody knows, that it's now time for satan's reign,
time for endless freakish pain.
so although it's been said,
many times, many ways,
you're next in line, it's time to rip your flesh-

'cause saaaaaatan's on his way,
and he's got lot's of hooks and smashers on his sleigh
to tear you limb from limb, aaaand grind your bones
beneath the hooves of 12 reindeer from hell...

band name

"the bloodhawks"

i plan to work on songwriting for a pop-soaked rock band. it would have some original songs, but mostly it would serve as a big-rock outlet for bedroom demos and accoustic duet songs done under the c2677 and/or flowers banners. i'm not talking just adding drums to the same old songs... i mean really rocking them out. still, though, it would have pop at its core. i think you get the idea. (this band would not include the garage-rock songs, the "guitly" songs. i still work on song that are intended as senseless rocking, with minimum regard to melody and stuff.)

song title / lyrics

'the angels who refused to take sides'

The first tormented souls
in the Vestibule of hell
the most loathsome sinners
they are nameless, unworthy of mention

when Lucifer revolted
they refused to draw the line
Heaven has damned them
but Hell will not accept them

(the idea here is to make a song out of dante's account of the gates of hell from 'the inferno'. it's a concept that has always stuck out in my mind: the idea that there were pacifists in the civil war in heaven- and that they have their own special eternal fate- lingering in between heaven and hell, for neither will accept them. such a powerful an unique contempt he has for them, as if the worst possible sin was refusal to take sides in the greatest battle ever... anyway, it could possibly be a bonus track on the inferno-derived concept album about the rivers of hell... inspired by the G&A song, 'coxcomb at hell creek'- from which the concept album would take its title.)
