song title
"bury me in spring"
a song a bout a person on their death bed, and their last words are 'bury me in spring'. it is the winter in alaska or the yukon territories in canada, and the winter weather, not to mention the permafrost, makes it hard to dig new graves. there are some pre-dug graves from last summer, but she/he does not want to be buried just anywhere. she/he desires to be buried under a particular tree, or maybe next to a loved one. you can't dig new graves in the frozen ground, so you keep the bodies on ice until the spring. it's a ritual, many people are buried in may in this area. (i thought of the title while listening to an NPR story, which is the basis for this whole plot).
